Are you ready to blog?

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

TheServicePlace has added a great new marketing tool to help you connect with searching homeowners. We have added a blog feature to your store front. Log in into your account to get started.

“Why would I want to blog on TheServicePlace”, you ask. Well, blogging is not for everyone, but think of it his way. You get to make a contact with a potential customer in a very unique way. You are giving them knowledge about you, your company and your expertise at the exact time they are searching for a business like yours.

Here are some ideas to get you started blogging.

  • Talk about a positive customer experience
  • Answer a frequently asked question
  • Tell others how your company solved a problem
  • Make an announcement
  • Talk about a special service you provide
  • Show-off some your industry knowledge

Also, as we get more blog posts we will be compiling them and linking  some on other pages that we feel help our searching homeowners. If that is your post(s) then you would receive added exposure for your business.

So, have fun and give it a try. Blog away!

Filling Out Your Store Front

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Over the past several months we have had hundreds of companies just like yours sign up on TheServicePlace. Thank you. One thing that we have noticed is that some businesses do not fill out all their information. You should really take advantage of all the fields. You see, when a searching homeowner is looking for lets say a plumber in Mesa, AZ, they want information and lots of it. The more information you can give them, the more likely they will choose you over a competitor.

So, when filling out your profile, do not leave out things like your ROC#, contact name, description, types of payments accepted. All of these make an impression on a searching homeowner and they are all a benefit. The best way to think of it is… if you were looking for a service what information would you want to know before you called them? You would want to know a lot, and so do homeowners.

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

As you know, at TheServicePlace, we are all about small business. Our desire to create a network marketplace for small businesses (contractors and home service professionals) is unparalleled. Our free listing gives advertisers dozens of ways to promote their business to searching homeowners.

Over the past several months we have been working on cleaning up our user interface making it easier for you to upload and edit your company profile. Some of the updates to TheServicePlace business profiles now include: enhanced logo and resizing, profile image, an easy to use picture gallery where you can show off your work or introduce your new employee, map location, and an updated about us page.

Coming soon… your own blog to speak to more customers and a specials tab on your Store Front. With your blog you will be able to spread your knowledge and your expertise throughout TheServicePlace and across the web. With the specials you will be able to give value to those searching for products and services you provide. For example, let’s say you are a landscaper that wants to break into the Phoenix market. When someone searches for a landscaper in Phoenix and you have an active special for that market, your special will be offered to all visitors on all pages in that category. You will expand your reach considerable.
